We are looking for a proactive Transport Manager, who holds a national or international CPC, to manage a transport site in Belfast and two smaller sites in Dublin working predominately day shift.
Based in Belfast and reporting into the head of transport you will be responsible for a busy team of supervisors, yard staff, admin and drivers whilst managing a fleet of vehicles so experience of efficiently managing a fast paced environment is essential. You will of course need to have a good understanding of driver legislation and working hours. You will enjoy driving initiatives that create a working environment that encourages development and collaboration, and you`ll want to implement new ideas that bring cost savings and increased productivity to the sites.

At BT Supply Chain, Health and Safety is at the forefront of everything we do; you will need to demonstrate a working understanding of current legislation and H&S practises.
Youll need to be comfortable dealing with customer queries, and managing driver issues. Youll be comfortable in a fast paced role, and be able to read and amend transport plans, as needed.
You will need to be process driven (knowledge of continuous improvement is desirable) and must have a demonstrable track record of developing your team with a focus on succession planning. Experience of working in a unionised environment is also useful.

Responsibilities:

Operator License Compliance
Ensure that all sites operate within the undertakings and assurances of the O Licence
Manage all changes to the current O Licence
Perform audits at both operating Centre to ensure full compliance and adherence to the company’s policies and procedures
Ensure all vehicles are being maintained and serviced on time
Manage all service providers offering service and repairs for the fleet
Fleet Management
Tachograph Management
Completion of all driver’s license checks
Fleet maintenance calendar
Managing the defect records
Ensuring all vehicles are taxed

General

Maintain and develop effective transport compliance policies and procedures
Review and implement all training requirements, operational staff and drivers
Analysis all commercial vehicle accidents and incidents, identify all route causes and drive corrective actions to minimise repeat failures
