Description :
Key Purpose :
The role holder responsible for independently managing the commercial aspects of large contracts, accountable for the financial performance of these contracts, and/or supports the development of contract performance with contract/business managers in order to maximize contract profitability.
People Manage other Commercial managers or DBCMs in line with BT and CDSS people management processes.
At least 2 years of direct people management experience managing a team of 20 or more people.
Responsible and accountable for the commercial interface to key Market Unit personnel (i.e. Contract Manager, Business Manager, Head of Contract Management, Contract Delivery Director).
Key Responsibilities :
--> Responsible for supporting financial performance, service delivery; manage billing and efficiency of change controls, help renewals, and general activities affecting commercial and service performance of the contract or potential contract.
--> To provide functions such as billing, revenue assurance, debt monitoring, technical data collection, inventory management, change control, document management, service ordering and tracking, update and manage financial scorecards and P&Ls, contract reporting, and third party contract administration.
--> To provide pro-active alert on any facts that impacts the contract P&L.
--> To understand the risk profile and opportunity potential in terms of profit and revenue growth.
--> To undertake tasks in support of commercial due diligence and contract renewals.
--> To support adherence to Contract Management Gold Standard including use of CDSS Service Towers.
--> May act in support of Business Directors, Contract Managers, Senior Commercial Managers
--> May evaluate and manage business opportunities from commercial prospective to ensure that the contracts (sometimes bids) are viable.
--> May provide improvement plan to optimize contract performance from commercial point of view.
--> May keep in touch with the customer.
--> As an identified critical resource, to have the required training/awareness that provides a recognized level of BCM competence
--> To undertake other / additional duties as required by the business
Business Impact :
--> The short term impact is full assurance of BT monthly revenues (through correct billing, on time delivery, etc.) and costs (cost of sales, labour costs etc.) which will result in the sustainability of the business on the long run.
Authority/Decision Making :
--> Interprets policies and executes processes.
--> Works within a clearly defined framework, and high level of autonomy but under guidance/direction from contract manager, business lead or senior manager.
--> Authority for significant decisions and financial accountability would lie with the Business Manager/Contract Manager/ Client Delivery Director.
--> Organize and plans own work, seeking input as appropriate to meet defined deadlines and KPIs.
Qualifications :
--> Degree level in Economics, Business Management, Finance, Commerce, Accounting, is preferred)
Skills/Experience :
--> A number of years’ relevant experience of finance, project management, customer service management / delivery.
--> Basic understanding of the key financials i.e. costs, pricing and budgets and can provide sensible financial analysis.
--> Analytical way of thinking.
--> Ability to handle many streams of information and control inputs into a document prior to production.
--> Understand basic customer solutions.
--> Attention to details and accuracy of information.
--> Broad understanding of BT’s products and services is essential.
--> Capable of taking initiative and understanding the business impact of the role.
--> Computer literate (Microsoft Office), excellent usage of Excel is a must.
--> Sense of ownership and accountability.
--> Passion for excellence.
--> Excellent communication skills.
--> Excellent English.
--> Knowledge of BT Tools (non-exhaustive): Stars, Classic, Cost Monitoring Tool, Tahiti, CIVT, Sharepoint, CNS.
