Roles & Responsibilities

As a team member, you will:
Imagine, design, and implement novel solutions to fundamental problems in the Service Provider space Build container-based applications that can scale easily from a single server to many Decide best practices for architecting multi-datacenter hyper-distributed applications Identify critical innovation initiatives, build prototypes, and mainline inventions into real products Exercise essential software engineering practices for developing robust code Work with a small, fast-paced, Agile team Meet influential thinkers in the Cisco community and beyond

Minimum Qualifications

BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science (or equivalent)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with Linux application development and tools

Desired Skills

Programming experience with multiple languages (e.g. C, Go, Python)
Basic knowledge of networking (e.g. TCP, UDP, IP, HTTP)
Linux system administration (e.g. installation, network configuration)
Containers and Container cluster managers (e.g. Docker and Kubernetes)
Public or Private Cloud application development (e.g. AWS or OpenStack)
Source control management using git or github
Software Engineering practices (e.g. source control, code review, CI/CD, versioning)
Experience working in a collaborative team environment
Understanding of virtual networking (e.g. VLAN, VXLAN, VPN)
Agile development methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Knowledge of open source software landscape and tools available
